Toughened Glass
Toughened glass is four to five times stronger than annealed glass of its equal thickness. It provides greater thermal strength. It provides greater resistance to unexpected sudden changes in temperatures, as well as withstands different temperatures as compared with normal annealed glass.
Gurind state of art horizontal full convection Toughen Plant is fully automatic, computer desk controlled, capable to produce certified quality triple silver coated toughened safety glass conforming to all International safety and quality standards. The new state of the art Tempering Plant can also temper thin coated glass of 3mm thickness, a technology that is a first in India.
Gurind Tuff, Toughened Glass, is processed by heating glass to its transition stage (650-700 degrees Celsius), and then cooling it rapidly with blasts of air through specially designed air nozzles. This gives the glass high surface stress and tensile strength and it becomes four to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness.
We are producing toughened glass doors with quality polish Edges, Holes & cutouts. Countersunk holes are made for spider fitting, Facades & Shower cubical. Toughened glasses can be further laminated where extra safety is required. Toughened glasses are also available in ceramic frit designs.

Application:
Toughened glass is generally used in commercial applications where wind, snow or thermal pressure exceeds the strength capability of tempered glass or heat strengthened glass i.e. railings, partitions, safety glazing for entrance way or fire resistance windows. Toughened glass is also used in glass escalators, side handrails, shower screens, sliding doors, squash, automobiles, glass tables, table tops etc.
